Bald Filter

Shaving it off is a decision most people make in a hurry and regret slowly. Look at it properly first, on your own head shape.

Bald Filter results

Twelve of the most-asked-for cuts and colours. Try any of them on your own face.

These six are a slice of the atlas, each one rendered on our demo faces with this tool. There are 120+ in it.

What a shaved head actually looks like on you

The bald filter strips the hair out of one front-facing photo and leaves a cleanly shaved scalp behind. Everything else holds still - your features, your skin tone, the light in the room, the shadow under your jaw - so you are judging your own skull, not a model picked for having a good one. Shaving has no halfway setting. No toner fixes it, no fringe hides it, and there is no growing the sides back out over a fortnight. The clippers take a minute; the way back takes about six months. Going bald also changes how your ears, brow and neckline read, and a bald render puts all three in front of you at once.

Clean shave

A razor-finish scalp with no stubble left in it. This is the end state rather than a grade one, so nothing is softening the outline for you.

Skin, not hair

A shaved scalp is skin now: SPF when the sun is out, moisturiser after every pass of the razor. The upkeep moves from the barber's chair to the bathroom shelf.

Ears and neckline

Hair hides ear set, brow height and where the neck meets the shoulders. The render shows what your barber sees once the guard comes off.

Same frame

Your before and the shaved version come out of one photo under one light, so hair is the only thing that differs between them.

Not convinced shaving is the answer yet? Put it beside a clipper grade or two, or look at a fuller hairline instead. The rest of the men's cuts sit one click away. Upload a photo when you are ready. The first look is free and there is no account to make.

Questions about the bald Filter

Straight answers, no hedging.

Will I still look like me with no hair?

Yes. Only the hair is redrawn. Your face, skin tone, expression and the lighting of the original photo are left alone, which is the whole point. A preview that quietly slimmed your jaw or lifted your brow would tell you nothing. What you get is your own head, without hair on it.

What happens to the photo I upload?

It is used to create your render and kept in your library, where only you can see it. Other visitors cannot see it, and the privacy policy explains why.

How accurate is a bald preview?

It is a reference image, not a promise. Shape and proportion come across well. It cannot know your scalp tone under years of hair, and most heads are paler up top than the face. It will not show moles, scars, or the exact shadow a razor leaves behind.

Does head shape really change the answer?

More than anything else does. A flat spot at the back, a prominent occipital bone or a narrow crown only show up once hair stops covering them. That is why the preview is built from your own photo instead of a generic scalp dropped over your face.

Should I buzz down first or go straight to the razor?

Most barbers take you to a grade one before the razor anyway, so you get a checkpoint either way. Use the preview for both. If the very short version and the fully shaved version both sit right with you, the decision stops being a gamble.

Can I see the back and sides too?

On a paid plan the render comes back from four angles - front, three-quarter, side and back - which for a shaved head is most of the picture. The crown and the back of the head are exactly the parts you cannot check in a mirror.
