Terms of Service

Last updated:

These Terms govern your use of HairstyleAtlas, an AI hairstyle try-on service operated from the Slovak Republic. They cover who owns the photos and the renders, what permission you give us over them, what you may and may not upload, and the one thing we want you to read even if you skip the rest: a render is a reference image, not a promise about what a stylist will hand you. By using HairstyleAtlas you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using HairstyleAtlas you confirm you are at least 16 years old and agree to these Terms. If you are using HairstyleAtlas for a salon, barbershop or other business, you also confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What HairstyleAtlas Does

HairstyleAtlas shows you a hairstyle or colour on a photograph of your own face before you commit to it. You upload a selfie, choose a style from the catalogue, and HairstyleAtlas renders an image of you with that hair.

  • A catalogue of cuts, fringes and colours
  • Renders that keep your face, skin tone, hairline and lighting and change only the hair
  • Renders you can download, and comparison sheets for taking to an appointment
  • Clean, full-resolution downloads on paid plans

3. Your Account

You need an account to render on your own photo. You agree to give accurate details, keep your sign-in secure, tell us promptly if someone else gets into your account, and accept responsibility for what happens under it. One account is for one person. Sharing a login is not the same as a team plan, and we may close accounts that are being shared to avoid paying for seats.

4. You Own Your Photos and Your Renders

The photograph you upload is yours. It stays yours. The image HairstyleAtlas renders from it is also yours - we claim no ownership of your renders and take no cut of what you do with them. You can download them, print them, post them, hand them to a stylist, or delete them, and you do not need our permission for any of that. Owning them is not the same as us having no permission to process them; section 5 is the permission you give us.

5. The Licence You Give Us

To run the service you grant HairstyleAtlas a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, reformat, modify, adapt and create derivative works from the photographs you upload and the renders made from them, and to process them with our AI providers. This licence exists so that we can operate, secure, measure, test and improve HairstyleAtlas and develop new features and services. It lasts while your content is on the service and for the retention periods in our Privacy Policy, and it ends when your content is deleted - except for de-identified and aggregate material, where it is perpetual and irrevocable because that material no longer relates to you.

  • We do not claim ownership of anything you upload or anything rendered from it
  • We do not sell your photographs, and we do not give them to advertisers
  • Using your identifiable photographs or renders to train or fine-tune an AI model requires your separate permission. It is off unless you give it, we will ask for it on its own rather than bundle it into these Terms, and you can withdraw it at any time
  • Using a render in which you are recognisable in our marketing requires your separate permission, and no is a complete answer
  • De-identified, aggregate and derived material - measurements, quality scores, prompt and parameter records, statistics - carries no photograph and we may use, retain, publish, license or sell it without further reference to you

6. Improvement and Model Training

We build on what the service produces. We may use de-identified and derived data from your use of HairstyleAtlas to evaluate and improve our models, prompts and settings, and to build new ones, and we may keep that data indefinitely. We use your identifiable photographs and renders for training only where you have given separate permission for it. If you withdraw that permission we stop using them and remove them from future training runs, but a model that has already been trained cannot be unpicked back into the images it was built from, so withdrawal governs what happens next rather than what has already happened. Our Privacy Policy sets out the detail and forms part of these Terms.

7. The Photo Must Be Yours to Upload

You confirm that you own or have permission to use every photograph you upload, that uploading it does not break anyone else's rights, and that you have the authority to grant the licence in section 5 over it. Do not upload a photograph of another person without their informed consent. If you work with clients, get that consent before the photo goes anywhere near the app - a client agreeing to a consultation is not the same as a client agreeing to have their face processed.

8. Acceptable Use

There are things this service is not for. You agree not to:

  • Upload a photograph of a child, or alter a minor's appearance in any way
  • Upload someone's photograph without their permission
  • Use a render to impersonate a real person, or to suggest someone said or did something they did not
  • Produce sexual, hateful, harassing, defamatory or otherwise unlawful imagery
  • Present a render as an unedited photograph where doing so would mislead someone
  • Attempt to identify a person from a photograph using our service
  • Scrape the site, resell access, or run automated traffic against it without written permission
  • Reverse engineer the service, or try to extract models, prompts or source code
  • Use the service or its output to build, train or evaluate a competing product

9. Simulation Disclaimer

This is the important one. A HairstyleAtlas render is a simulation and a reference image. It is not a photograph of the future and it is not a guarantee of a salon result.

  • Hair behaves differently once it is actually cut - weight, growth pattern, cowlicks and density all change how a cut sits
  • A curl pattern can be predicted from your texture but not guaranteed
  • Colour outcomes depend on your starting hair: its current dye, porosity, condition and how it lifts
  • The skill, products and judgement of the person doing the work change the result
  • Hairline and thinning previews are reference images, not medical or surgical predictions - talk to a qualified clinician before any treatment

10. Take It to a Professional

Use a render as a better brief than a photograph of a stranger. Show it to your stylist or barber and let them tell you what is achievable on your hair. HairstyleAtlas does not warrant that any salon, barber or clinic will be able to reproduce a render, and we are not responsible for the result of any appointment you book.

11. Commercial Use

Personal plans are for your own face and your own decisions. Using HairstyleAtlas in a business - consultations with clients, marketing a salon, or any other commercial purpose - requires a Pro plan. Pro includes commercial use of your renders and exports without our branding. If you are unsure which side of the line you are on, ask us before you rely on it.

12. Plans, Looks and Billing

Some features require payment. By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method through Stripe on a recurring basis until you cancel.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled
  • A plan includes a stated number of credits per billing period; credits are spent on rendered pictures, and the cost of a render is shown before you confirm it
  • A hairstyle on your photo costs 10 credits, a colour on that cut costs 5, a facial-hair change costs 10, and on plans that include them each additional angle costs 10; length, fringe and parting cost nothing
  • Reading a haircut off a reference photo you supply costs nothing
  • Re-running a render because it came out wrong does not count against your allowance, and a render that fails returns its credits
  • Unused credits do not roll over into the next period
  • A credit top-up is a single one-off purchase that does not renew; topped-up credits do not expire at the end of a billing period
  • Prices can change, and we will tell you before a change affects a renewal
  • You are responsible for any taxes shown at checkout

13. Cancellation

Cancel at any time from billing settings. Cancelling stops the next charge and leaves your access running to the end of the period you have already paid for. There is no cancellation fee, no phone call and no retention process. Your library stays available while your account is open.

14. Refunds

We offer a seven-day refund with no conditions attached to how much you used the service, including how many images you generated. The detail, and how to ask, is in our refund policy, which forms part of these Terms.

15. Early Access and Pre-Launch Purchases

While HairstyleAtlas is in pre-launch, checkout runs a real charge to confirm genuine intent, and that charge is then refunded automatically and in full within moments of completing it. You are not buying access to something that does not exist yet. What you get is a place on the waitlist and any launch benefit described on the checkout page. The refund is returned to your original payment method and typically appears within five to ten business days depending on your bank. We will say clearly on the checkout page when pre-launch mode is running.

16. Availability and Changes

We add styles, retire ones that do not work, and improve the render quality over time, so the catalogue and the output will change. We aim for a service that is up and quick, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may take the service down for maintenance. If we discontinue a paid feature you rely on, we will give notice and refund the unused part of your term.

17. Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular we do not warrant that a render will be accurate, that a style will suit you, or that any real-world result will match what you see on screen. Nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and whatever the theory of liability, HairstyleAtlas is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. This expressly includes the cost or consequence of any haircut, colour service, treatment or procedure you decide to have. Our total liability for all claims taken together is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

19. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify HairstyleAtlas against claims, damages and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, from your use of the service, or from a photograph you uploaded that you did not have the right to upload. This does not apply to anything caused by our own breach or negligence, and nothing in it limits your rights as a consumer.

20. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from account settings, which removes your account and anything still held for it, subject to the retention periods in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, particularly section 8, and we will do so immediately and without refund for uploads involving minors or non-consensual images. Where the breach is minor we will tell you what is wrong and give you a chance to fix it.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders or shown in the product before they take effect, and the last updated date above will change. Where a change needs your consent we will ask for it rather than assume it. Continuing to use HairstyleAtlas after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current period.

22. Assignment and Business Transfers

You may not transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else without our written agreement. We may transfer these Terms, and your account with them, to a buyer or successor if HairstyleAtlas is merged, acquired, restructured or sells the business or its assets, provided that the buyer is bound by terms at least as protective as these. We will tell you if that happens.

23. Severability, Waiver and the Whole Agreement

If any part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, that part is cut back to what is enforceable, or removed if it cannot be, and the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between us about HairstyleAtlas and replace anything said before.

24. Events Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for a failure or delay caused by something genuinely outside our control - an outage at a supplier we depend on, a network or power failure, a change in the law, or a comparable event. If it lasts long enough to matter, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of your term.

25. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, and the courts of the Slovak Republic have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have as a consumer to bring a claim in the country where you live or to rely on the mandatory protections of that country's law. We would much rather sort a problem out by email first, so please write to us before anything else.

26. Contact

Questions about these Terms, about commercial use, or about anything in section 9 that affects a decision you are about to make - email our support address and a person will answer.

Our support address is [email protected]. A person reads it.
